Refinery29: Rain, Cold, and Electrocution Couldn't Stop Our Save Fashion Campaign!

With <a href="http://www.savefashion.com"target=_blank>Save Fashion merely a week away, we wanted to share our <a href="http://www.tomhines.com/"target="_blank">Tom Hines-shot campaign photos featuring <a href="http://www.trumpmodels.com/"target=_blank>Trump girls Georgie Wass, Jessica Perez, and Julia Wolters. In the spirit of Save Fashion, at moments it seemed like we needed someone to save us from the elements. A mixture of freezing rain and gusty conditions in Tivoli, NY made it way difficult to execute the '70s-tinged concept we were going for (even worse, our poor props guy got electrocuted from the fog machine. Sorry Jesse!). But in the end, we were absolutely thrilled with the mystical, ethereal editorial that was produced. Though we may have bled, sweated, and cried our way through this shoot, we made our latest Save Fashion campaign well worth the wait. Want to see more? Stop by our shop in SoHo from November 13-22 for some outrageous deals (steals, really) on all our favorite brands. See you there!

Refinery29: Olivia Rubin Outfits the Next Generation of Monets

Whether you favor cubism or abstract impressionism (or slept through art history altogether), it's a pretty standard commonality that a girl in a pretty dress is always a muse-worthy subject matter. In this dot-splotched lookbook shot by Alistair Guy, model Alys looks pretty as a painting in an array of asymmetrical cocktail numbers with a fine-arts-major edge. These Olivia Rubin designs mix pinks, blues, and peaches with black contour lines and heels fit for sauntering into any gallery with ease. We hope she isn't missing too much class time to pose for the camera, but if the masterpieces surrounding her are any indication of her talents, she's going to pass with flying colors.
Refinery29: Save Fashion is Back: Our Dream Sample Sale Is Coming to SoHo!

Every serious shopper knows New York is the place for amazing sample sales, but it can be truly frightening out there on the front lines. We're seasoned sale veterans here at Refinery29, and we'd had enough of the grumpy salespeople, fluorescent-lit rooms, and so-so stock. We knew there had to be a fun way to get the best deals on the coolest duds, so we brainstormed and plotted and came up with our dream sample sale. We call it <a href="http://www.savefashion.com"target="_blank">Save Fashion, and after an <a href="http://www.refinery29.com/parties/popup_party.php"target="_blank">incredible debut last May at Port Authority, it's popping up again, this time in SoHo. Get ready, because from November 13-22 we'll be selling only the very best wares from our favorite designers—Band of Outsiders, Vena Cava, Sophomore, Steven Alan, Wren, Rogan, Rag & Bone, and more!—all at up to 90% off, all in one place, with new stock added daily. And did we mention the sale also benefits <a href="http://www.charitywater.org/"target="_blank">Charity: Water? From us to you, and just in time for the holidays. So, give your fightin' elbows a rest, and come check out what we have up our sleeves…and stay tuned for more sneak-peeks at all the gorgeous loot we'll have waiting for you!

Refinery29: An Education Teaches Us a Lesson in Posh, Brit Dressing

When we saw An Education starring Carey Mulligan, we weren't expecting to get lesson in fashion. Based on a novel by Lynn Barber, the film takes place in England, 1961. Carey plays Jenny, a young British schoolgirl who, stifled by the
tedium of adolescence, dreams of a Chanel-scented life. Though, while our eyes weren't glued to Carey and Peter Sarsgaard's electric chemistry, they were wandering to the fetching costumes that prompted this round-up. From smart prep-school uniforms to nipped floral dresses, every outfit was historically accurate but undeniably wearable. So, take a gander of our favorite three looks—maybe you'll even find that last item on your holiday wish-list!

Above, clockwise from left: Blue Nile Heart Heirloom Locket, $870, available at Blue Nile; Forever21 Floral Brushed Dress, $22.80, available at Forever21; French Connection Kitty Wool Coat, $298, available at French Connection; Leica M7 Rangefinder 35mm Camera, $4,395, available at Amazon; Mila Schon Spring Flowers Printed Silk Square Scarf, $95, available at <a href="http://www.forzieri.com/usa/product_view.asp?l=usa&c=usa&pf_id=sh03019-003&id_valore1=&id_valore2=&id_valore3=&id_valore4=65&id_valore5=&dept_id=2#"target="_blank">Forzieri.

Refinery29: The Newly Launched Twin Magazine Doesn't Want You To Call It a Magazine

In another instance of rogue publishers giving traditional magazines the <a href="http://www.refinery29.com/under_the_influence/new_magazine_fashionfucks_arou.php"target="_blank">middle finger, Twin Magazine's debut issue wants to lay a couple things down. Firstly, they are not a magazine, so please call them a book. And secondly, they are "strong, sensual, and independent—like its readers" (thank you!). Substance over surface is their motto, so in an attempt to remove the gloss from glossies, the first issue is packed with content delivered straight from some of fashion's superstars. Todd Selby gets Selby-fied as he turns the lens on his own house, Freja Beha Erichson dons some leather and a sneer in a dark-'n'-gloomy editorial, and <a href="http://www.refinery29.com/my_style/my_style_garance_dor.php"target="_blank">Garance Doré gets a little feature that we're bound to love. Pick up your own magazine...er, we mean book in all its strong and sensual glory <a href="http://www.twinfactory.co.uk/book"target="_blank">here online.
