Grey's Anatomy, “Bring The Pain”

Season 2, episode 5

“Pick me. Choose me. Love me.” No six words on television have ever been more heart-wrenchingly romantic than the crescendo of Meredith Grey’s (Ellen Pompeo) iconic, big speech to McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey).

While fans know Meredith and Derek Shepherd would go on to weather countless romantic storms, we can all agree McDreamy did love our leading lady.

The End Of The Fucking World, “Episode 5”

Season 1, episode 5

In a similar vein to Grey’s, TEOTFW also has its own iconically perfect line: “I didn’t come back for the money,” which is said by heroine Alyssa (Jessica Barden).

So, what did Alyssa come back for? James (Alex Lawther), whom she abandons in a restaurant hours earlier. Now that the teens have officially chosen each other, as opposed to ending up together due to a series of bloody, bizarre circumstances, their love story can truly begin.

New Girl, “Five Stars for Beezus”
Season 6, episode 22

After seasons of Nick Miller (Jake Johnson) and Jessica Day’s (Zooey Deschanel) on-again, off-again relationship, New Girl finally gives them an official, romantic resolution in its almost series finale, “Beezus.”

The entire thing is so emotional I can’t hear Lorde’s “Green Light,” which backs the closing scene, without thinking of Jess and Nick’s episode-ending kiss.

This Is Us, “I Call Marriage”

Season 1, episode 14

We all know This Is Us is filled with romantic moments since Big Gestures are kind of Jack Pearson’s (Milo Ventimiglia) Thing. But, the best of Jack’s big gestures will always be the time he took Rebecca (Mandy Moore) back to their first apartment to get the spark back in their marriage.

The twinkle lights alone.

Parks and Recreation, “Halloween Surprise”

Season 5, episode 5

Proposals are intrinsically romantic — that’s why there’s more than a few on this list — but, boy, does Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) knock his down-on-one-knee moment out of the park. I love Ben’s proposal to Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler), and I like it.

You should, too.

Teen Wolf, “Riders on the Storm”

Season 6, episode 10

Okay, a teen soap filled with buff supernatural creatures and EDM fights shouldn’t exactly be romantic. And, yet, here we are.

After years of waiting for Stiles Stilinski (Dylan O'Brien) and Lydia Martin (Holland Roden) to officially get together (and admit they’re both in love), fans received that exact gift in the duo’s big “Storm” reunion… along with a fantastic kiss.

Black Mirror, “San Junipero”

Season 3, episode 4

Kelly Booth (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) and Yorkie’s (Mackenzie Davis) love is so great, it transcends time, familial bonds, and death. There’s a reason “San Junipero” was an awards show juggernaut.

Try to think about Monica Geller (Courteney Cox) and Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) tearfully proposing to each other on the candlelit floor of the Friends apartment without crying. You can’t.

Season 1, episode 7

I didn’t want to want to put another wedding son here, but everyone needs to remember this wonderfully romantic, sexy hour of television.
