Iman Nanji, Private Banking Americas Business Support Analyst

What is your office uniform and how do you transform this look for evening?
"I don’t have one office uniform, but if I know I am going out and won’t have time to go home first I bring a few essentials with me: I make sure to have a piece of big statement jewelry whether it be long earrings or a big necklace. I bring a pair of higher heels, blush and bronzer, red lipstick, and a clutch. These accessories can transform just about any work outfit."

What brands and stores do you turn to for your professional attire?
"I absolutely adore rag & bone for essentials like slacks, blazers, and shift dresses. They design classic pieces that have an edge to them, which allows you to have some personal style even in the workplace... and stand out in the sea of suits! For truly classic staples I love Theory. They use the same fabrics every season so you can always add new pieces to the power suit whether it be a new skirt, dress, or a different pair of slacks. Phillip Lim also has some great pieces that can work both day and night."

How do you dress on your time off and how is this aesthetic reflected in your work attire?  "I think my style is a blend of L.A. (where I grew up) and New York, with some Indian-inspired prints and patterns sprinkled in wherever appropriate."

To transition to a night time look...
Iman removes the outer shell of her Theory blouse to reveal the inner camisole, adds jewelry she bought in India and Vietnam, and ditches her larger work bag for this sleek clutch, also from India.

What do you always keep in your work bag?
"A pair of flats: I often switch into them before the day is even over. I also always have a tinted chapstick for the day, a red lipstick in case I don’t make it home before I 'hit the city', a powder compact, and my iPad and a pen."

Is there any certain garment style wise you wish you could wear to work?
 "Wedges!"

Is there anything from your work wardrobe that you find yourself wearing when you're out of the office?
"My rag & bone cropped pants — I wear them out of the office too often. And, my blouses. I wear them at work then out at night."

Have you found any accessorizing or layering tricks that work for the office?
"I love jewelry. I try to wear as much as I can (appropriately of course) during the day and otherwise I bring a fun necklace with me. I always pair a fun blouse with a blazer and ditch the blazer at work for the night."

Hilary Krentzman, Senior Analyst, Investment Banking Division, Retail, and Consumer Products Group

Where do you shop for work clothing?
"My firm has a relatively casual dress code compared to other Wall Street institutions, and my product group definitely tolerates edgier outfits because of the interest in retail companies. As a result, I always try to buy pieces that I can wear outside of the office. I especially stick to this rule for tops and sweaters. I am a loyal rag & bone shopper and buy a lot of their blazers, sweaters, and tops. I also have found some good skirts and shirts at comptoirs de cotonniers, particularly for fall and winter. For exclusively corporate staples (such as slacks), I always buy Theory. For pencil skirts and cardigans I like Club Monaco."

What do you always keep in your work bag?
"Flip-flops, lip gloss with a little color, blush, under-eye makeup (I don’t get a lot of sleep in this job!), and a phone charger (I can’t have a dead work phone if I leave the office). I also have a collection of reserve shoes underneath my desk to lighten my work bag load."   Theory pants, Equipment top, Jimmy Choo shoes, Monika Chiang bag.

What is your office uniform and how do you transform this look for evening?
"I prefer to wear pants to work and like the cropped style, especially in the warmer months. The Equipment top is a great transition piece because it can tie up. Showing a little midriff, making the neckline more dramatic by buttoning to the top, and layering on a bold necklace makes this work-appropriate, day outfit a sophisticated night ensemble." To transition into a night time look... Hilary ties up her Equipment top, leaves her work bag at the office, and layers on a dramatic necklace. She also ties her hair up and amps up her makeup.

How do you dress when you're not on the clock and how do you incorporate that aesthetic into your professional attire ?
"I have a pretty classic style but love edgier accessories. At work I accent outfits of neutral colors (tan, black, or white) with brightly-colored flats (have a pair of rainbow tie-dyed ones that I love), or earthier earrings and bangles. In and out of the office I love sweaters — such as the mesh ones that are everywhere now — that can come off as either casual or dressy based on what you wear underneath or on the bottom."

Is there anything from your work wardrobe that you find yourself wearing when you're out of the office?
"I have definitely integrated more blousy tops into my out-of-office wardrobe."

Have you ever made a funny or inappropriate outfit choice for work and immediately regretted it?
"I haven't committed any major faux pas in important moments. However, I once took a 'dress-down' day a bit too far and came to work in Havianas, which I quickly realized was a bit too sloppy for the workplace! Luckily I was able to run home to grab flats."

Roxanne Dehnad, Securities Trading Analyst

What is your office uniform and how do you transform this look for evening?
"The dress code in my office is pretty much what you’d expect from a finance firm: conservative. So I try and find pieces for work that are appropriate and comfortable, yet flattering and feminine. Dresses are the easiest way to achieve all of these and perfect for transitioning into the evening. I switch up my shoes and accessories, add an extra touch of makeup, and I’m ready for a night out."

Where do you look for professional pieces?
"J.Crew, Theory and Club Monaco are always great for staples you can mix and match. Diane von Furstenberg is my go-to for dresses."

What do you wear on your time off? How is this style reflected in your work attire?
"Outside of the office I’d say my aesthetic is simple and classic. Accessories are what I reach for to add some edginess to my outfits or to dress things up a bit. I love to include vintage pieces to give the classic, modern look a twist — shoes in particular are my favorite to work with. I’ve collected some really unique, beautiful pairs that give any look a little bit of a story. That same combination of a simple and chic outfit, mixed with the right accessories, is what I aim for in my work attire, too."

Is there anything from your work wardrobe that you find yourself wearing when you're out of the office?
"Wrap dresses. Throwing on a wrap dress morning or night is the easiest way to look put - together and get out the door fast."

To transition into a night time look... Roxanne keeps her J.Crew dress but loses the belt and swaps contacts for her daytime glasses. She puts on a more colorful pair of Christian Louboutin shoes, more playful Urban Outfitters earrings, and a smaller Chanel bag. She finishes her look with M.A.C's "So Chaude" lipstick.

Have you ever made a funny or inappropriate outfit choice at the office?
"One morning, I was really running late. A dress I ordered online had arrived the night before but I hadn’t tried it on yet. In my rushed state, I ripped open the package, threw on the dress, and headed out. Halfway through my subway ride, as I was really waking up, I started thinking ‘this dress is a bit short’. I spent the rest of the ride convincing myself it was not. Once I started walking from the subway to the office I was totally panicking. This dress was SO short, especially for heels (I travel to work in casual flats and change into heels in the office). My roommate was a grad student at the time and had a flexible schedule so I called her and begged her to bring me a different dress from my closet. She didn’t get down to my office until around noon. I get to work at 7 a.m. and literally did not get up from my desk for those five hours until she arrived."

Have you found any accessorizing/ layering tricks that work for the office?
"It’s FREEZING in our office (as most offices are), so I always have some kind of layering piece at my desk no matter what the season. My dad travels frequently to the Middle East on business and has brought me back so many beautiful pashminas that I now have a really extensive collection of colors and designs. They add a great touch to any outfit while also keeping me warm."

What do you always keep in your work bag?
"Wallet, keys, a personal iPhone a Blackberry for work, iPad, a book for my subway commute, and a small tube of liquid eyeliner for the times I’m doing something special after work."

Is there anything wish you could wear to work?
"JEANS. We have a jeans day about once a year and I get so excited for it."
