It wasn't all that long ago that Facebook uploads were our main mode of instant photo sharing — you know, back when Nashville was just a place you'd visit if you liked country music. At this point, we barely roll out of bed in the morning without scrolling through Instagram first.

In the intervening three to four years, you've learned to make art out of those tiny squares. You likely take five times the number of photos you ever did, to be sure you're capturing the perfect frame to which you can apply a carefully selected filter. We went hunting for the very first Instagram posts from some of the app's most notable users, and, well, let's just say the times have changed.
