Wear Your Cropped Sweater All Weekend Long

By now, you've probably mastered the crop top. Whether you sport your mini-tee with vintage Levi's or opt for the more polished pencil skirt or high-waisted slacks, you've got the belly-baring trend down to a science. But, the cropped sweater? Now, that's a whole different monster. As it turns out, it's one that's definitely worth taking on this fall.
The trick is to find a piece that's a bit oversized. It may sound a little strange, but in this case, "cropped" is more about the boxy, above-the-waist cut than the shrunken look. The result is way more fashion-forward than early-'90s Kelly Kapowski, plus it's an easy way for L.A. girls to incorporate more autumnal knits into their wardrobe.
To give you a proper visual (and, fingers crossed, convince you to test out the look), we've constructed three totally different ways to wear the cropped sweater. We think you'll see this cozier version of the stomach-showing staple is for everyone.

The Dinner Date
You've already conquered the first date with your crush, and you're feeling a little more confident going into the second. Before heading to that hot new restaurant, pair your oversized, boxy sweater with a ladylike skirt and mules for a casual-yet-still-totally-flirty vibe. You'll feel good in it — and, best of all, you'll be comfortable.

The Sunday Stroll
Meeting a friend on Sunday morning to recap the night before? Swap out the skirt and chunky mules for a pair of high-waisted, well-tailored jeans, and a rad pair of sneaks. The result? Cool, casual, and beyond figure-flattering.

The Monday Grind
After a jam-packed weekend, pulling together a chic office outfit can be more of a challenge than you're ready to take on. Don't stress! The same cropped sweater layered over a mid-length, breezy tank dress creates a sleek, unfussy look. And, for an extra boost of energy, finish off the look with a funky pair of metallic oxfords and a bright backpack. Who says Mondays can't be Fundays?
