The Best TV-Inspired Group Costumes To Break Out This Halloween

Currently, we're in the age of the squad: girl squads, Swift's squad, Suicide Squad. Unfortunately, this era comes with some dire Halloween ramifications: Your "Seven Deadly Sins" group costume idea just won't cut it anymore.
Toss out whatever you had planned for "Lust." Skip that green romper you would've passed off as "Greed." Instead, use this holiday as an opportunity to show off your high-brow TV habits. Match a wide, '90s-style tie with a boxy suit (The People v. O.J. Simpson's Dream Team of lawyers), or throw on a gray wig and a layer of sass (Golden Girls).
We've rounded up some of the most clever Halloween costumes inspired by TV ensembles. See for yourself: Greed is good, but posing as your favorite America's Next Top Model judge is so much better.

The Pearson BFFs

The Is Us

Testing the politics of an interracially adoptive family like the Pearsons for Halloween will more than likely to make you a viral sensation for problematic reasons rather than celebratory ones. So, avoid those socially dangerous waters completely by forgoing a Pearson family group costume for a Pearson BFFs group costume.

Spend this Halloween as Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia), his wife Rebecca Pearson (Mandy Moore), his best friend Miguel (Jon Huertas), and Miguel's wife Shelley (Wynn Everett) on the Pearson parents' wedding day. All you have to do is hit the thrift store to find these very '80s formal duds.

Now, all you have to do is remember to ignore the confusing romantic drama looming in the future for these four.

Eleven & Co.
Stranger Things

There is basically no cooler crew on television right now than the precious, kick-butt kids of Netflix's Stranger Things.

The biggest problem here is choosing who gets to be Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), but once you do, get ready to pull out the Egg-o Waffles and bad wigs. Everyone else please wear the appropriate multi-layered outfits, complete with a trucker hat if you're Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo).

America's Next Top Model Judges

Don't you slay? Channel your inner Tyra, and get your gang to dress up like her esteemed panel of judges. In the words of Tyra herself: "Hoe, but make it fashion!"

The Banks Family
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Step into your Halloween function dressed up as Bel-Air's first family. Will's looks were the loudest — busy, colorful prints, snapbacks, even the occasional crop top. Smith told GQ that his clothes back in the day were "always about inspiration and creativity. I wanted that in my clothes. I wanted to show that hyper energetic person."

As for everyone else in the family keep it simple. Except for Hilary Banks, whose looks were always luxury or nothing.

The Dillon Panthers
Friday Night Lights

Fall means a new crop of TV pilots, but it also means football season! Grab your pads and helmets and jog onto the field. Stack your team's roster with Tim Riggins, Matt Saracen, Landry Clarke, and The Smash. Include Jason Street if you must, but he'll only get in the way of Lyla and Riggins' (short lived) true love.

Bonus points if you include the ultimate true love couple: Eric and Tami Taylor.

OJ Simpson's Dream Team
The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story

If the Dream Team could get O.J. out of jail, they can definitely guarantee entry into your Halloween party of choice.

If you can't score an entire 1990s suit from a vintage shop, then a blazer will do. The crucial part is the slicked back hair and geometric-patterned tie. Law degree optional.

President Selina Meyer's Staff

Are you often surrounded by poorly-dressed men? Do you grimace through their incompetence? Are you certain they're all murmuring behind your back about your qualifications? Then this Veep look is the costume for you!

Selina Meyer's staff isn't made up entirely of men, of course, but part of the show's humor is that her presidential run is largely undermined by her staff of clueless dudes. Pair some suits with an American flag pen (and, if Gary is who you're going for, a cumbersome briefcase) and voilà — take the D.C. Metro to the Capitol Rotunda.

The Stark Family
Game of Thrones

Spoiler: More than half the characters in this photo are dead, but the Stark family shall rise again! Let your hair down and tie on your cape — House Stark requires an air of earnest dignity. Look out for fellow partygoers that might want to turn a harmless Halloween party into a Red Wedding.

Golden Girls
The Golden Girls

Thank you for being a friend. With a grey wig and a two piece pantsuit look, you too can live your best life in your later years.

The wig and clothes are easy to nail with this costume. The most important part is the attitude. These are just any mature women: They're Rose, Dorothy, Blanche, and Sophia. Please act accordingly.

The Girls
Sex And The City

It's not enough to throw on some different colored wigs and claim to be HBO's most famous gal pals. Up the ante by recreating the show's '90s costumes.

Manolos not in your budget? Carry around a laptop and share rather obvious observations about life and romance with anyone who will listen. Channel your inner Samantha and call everything (with the exception of funky tasting spunk) utterly fabulous. Look to @everyoutfitonsatc for some outfit inspo.
