The World’s Largest Yoga Event Ever Starts Tonight In Central Park
It's officially summer, and that means you really can't avoid swimsuit season. Sure, the gym is just dandy for shedding that winter weight, but sometimes we prefer something a little more soothing at the ends of our stressful weekdays. For all our yogi-readers: today, on Central Park's Great Lawn starting at 5:30pm, The Standard Hotel along with Flavorpill and Jet Blue are hosting the
world's largest yoga event
. 10,000 people are expected to attend, with the colossal class (at 7:15) led by renowned yoga teacher Elena Brower. In addition to the quality yoga instruction, the Reggie Watts-hosted event will also offer music performances geared for yogic-centering, slam poetry, and some free goodies, too.
Enter at 81st Street (at Central Park West) or 80th Street (at 5th Avenue).
Note: Not in New York? Not to worry. The Standard Spa in Miami Beach and The Standard in West Hollywood are hosting satellite yoga events as well, where the NYC event will be live-streamed, starting at 6 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively.
