Yesterday, when news broke that the D.C. Taxicab Commission was considering raising cab fares, the local Twitterverse devolved into a communal freakout. But after a long hearing today, it's unclear whether our rides home from H Street will cost more or pretty much stay the same. Either way, we decided to prepare for the worst in the best way we know how: virtual shopping. Because we've all been there, facing a long trek on foot when we're too broke to hail a cab, we figured we'd do you a solid and round up some of our favorite cute, comfy shoes — they're made for walking, which we might just be doing a lot of, very soon.
