Over the past five years, the NFL has incorporated more appealing fashion choices for their female game goers. Though it's typically regarded as a men's game, women are pretty important to football. Namely, 45% of us are fans. Plus, they're invaluable to advertisers.

But, female football fans have long taken issue with how the league has traditionally marketed to them. Where a man's Vikings jersey would come in the team's trademark purple, the woman's version was often in a shade of pink that had nothing to do with the team's colors. For too long, the method to creating a female fan-gear collection was "pink-it and shrink-it." Oh, and throw a branded thong in there for good measure.

Not anymore, though.

With the NFL's newest line for women, it looks like the days of all-pink everything are fading. For its new "Together We Make Football" campaign, the league is offering clothing that's team-color appropriate and on-trend. Of course, there are a couple of pink items for those who prefer that version. (Remember: The issue here was not having a choice.)
