Dig These Three Delish So-Cal Beach Eats!

Nothing can complete a sweet day on the beach like a seriously yummy snack. Of course, the perfect summer eats aren't always the easiest to wrangle when you're busy soaking up the So-Cal sun, and street vendor hotdogs just won't do when you're working up an appetite surfing on Zuma or building the mother of all sandcastles in Venice. So for those of you beach babes with more refined palettes, we highly recommend you check out our first ever "3 Best" round-up featuring the most tasty beach-eats this side of the 405. Whether you want a delish destination for a classic Santa Monica brunch, an off-the-boardwalk lunch, or a romantic dinner in the 'bu, we've got you covered!

Blue Plate Oysterette
Blue Plate Diner on Montana Avenue makes a killer breakie, but with their new oyster bar outpost on Ocean Avenue, they've really outdone themselves. The décor is adorable, the raw bar and cooked seafood rule, and the Oysterette makes a delish lobster roll that rivals NYC's Pearl Oyster Bar and Mary's Fish Camp. Plus, it's a stone's throw away from the amazingly kitschy Santa Monica Pier, so you can hit up the carousel or Ferris wheel after. Just try not to lose your lunch.
Blue Plate Oysterette, 1355 Ocean Avenue (at Santa Monica Boulevard); 310-576-3474.
Back On The Beach Café
Back On The Beach is a So-Cal staple, and the on-the-sand patio is as classic as their Huevos Rancheros. We recommend you get your fill on the tasty brunch menu, and then head next door to the Annenberg Community Beach House, as it's open to the public, situated on 5 beautiful acres, and offers great classes and amenities (state-of-the-art gym, brand-new pool, yoga classes) for a low-low price.
Back On The Beach Café, 445 Pacific Coast Highway (between Marguerita Avenue and Alta Avenue); 310-393-8282.
Malibu Beach Inn
Of course, if you want something romantical, don't overlook the Malibu Beach Inn. The on-the-water dining room is super-dreamy with a menu that will have your tummy falling in love. The Inn is a great getaway if you're looking for an intimate B&B stay-cation, but if you just want to treat your taste buds, look no further than this Carbon Beach eatery.
Malibu Beach Inn, 22878 Pacific Coast Highway (at Sweetwater Canyon Drive); 310-456-6444.
