Blue Plate Oysterette
Blue Plate Diner on Montana Avenue makes a killer breakie, but with their new oyster bar outpost on Ocean Avenue, they've really outdone themselves. The décor is adorable, the raw bar and cooked seafood rule, and the Oysterette makes a delish lobster roll that rivals NYC's Pearl Oyster Bar and Mary's Fish Camp. Plus, it's a stone's throw away from the amazingly kitschy Santa Monica Pier, so you can hit up the carousel or Ferris wheel after. Just try not to lose your lunch.
Back On The Beach Café
Back On The Beach is a So-Cal staple, and the on-the-sand patio is as classic as their Huevos Rancheros. We recommend you get your fill on the tasty brunch menu, and then head next door to the Annenberg Community Beach House, as it's open to the public, situated on 5 beautiful acres, and offers great classes and amenities (state-of-the-art gym, brand-new pool, yoga classes) for a low-low price.
Malibu Beach Inn
Of course, if you want something romantical, don't overlook the Malibu Beach Inn. The on-the-water dining room is super-dreamy with a menu that will have your tummy falling in love. The Inn is a great getaway if you're looking for an intimate B&B stay-cation, but if you just want to treat your taste buds, look no further than this Carbon Beach eatery.
