18 Riveting Photos From Ferguson’s Frontlines

It’s been 10 days since Michael Brown, an unarmed Black teenager, was shot and killed by Darren Wilson, a white police officer, in Ferguson, MO. There have been a lot of headlines, a lot of hashtags, a lot of opinions, a lot of tough conversations, and a lot of tears. But, the images are what stick with us. Cops in riot gear firing tear gas at protesters. Children holding their hands in the air — as if pantomiming "don't shoot" — as Brown reportedly did before being gunned down. Teachers banding together to educate, despite schools being closed. A man handing a rose to a police officer.
So, what if it's been said a thousand times? They really are worth a thousand words.
