With two seasons of Girls in the can, one officially in the works, a growing list of producing, directing, and writing film credits, and one book, Lena Dunham is officially a burgeoning media mogul. We suppose it was only a matter of time that someone would let her roll out a second television series — but we never suspected it would be so soon or, gasp, based on one of our favorite people.
The always-dependable Deadline confirms that HBO has reached a deal with Dunham and her Girls co-producer, Jenni Konner, to adapt the upcoming memoir by legendary Bergdorf Goodman personal shopper Betty Halbreich into a series. The book, All Dressed Up And Everywhere To Go, will reportedly chronicle Halbreich's 36-year-long career as a dresser, stylist, celebrity confidant to names like Candice Bergen, Meryl Streep, Liza Minnelli, Sarah Jessica Parker, among others, and cornerstone of Bergdorf's high-class reputation.

Frank, sharp, funny, and infallibly fashionable, Halbreich is a dream role for any actress with the appropriate amounts of edge, grace, and comedic timing. Also, it would represent a move uptown for the very Brooklyn Dunham and, perhaps, a move in focus from 20-somethings to the over-60 set — something we'd certainly watch.
We wonder though — will this be a period piece covering her pre-Bergdorf years? Will Dunham give her Halbreich character a "Carrie Bradshaw"-type name (i.e. "Brandy Halbert")? Will the inevitable parade of celebs be fictionalized, or will we see guest turns by Liza, SJP, and others? When will it be here already? (Deadline)
