We Tried Sephora's Top-Rated Brow Gels — & These Are Our Honest Opinions

Finding the right formula for your brows can be tricky. While pomades, pencils, and powders are relatively easy to navigate, you can never be too sure about gels. Will the formula be sticky or chalky? Will the product coagulate on the wand's tip? Do you need a spare spoolie to save you from a goopy formula? So, to cut through the noise, we scoured reviews for the best of the best and put 'em to the test, in the hopes that we can hold off on microblading for a little longer.

We hit up Sephora (since we already raided the drugstore), where the beauty community has a wealth of knowledge and strong opinions. Click ahead to check out our honest opinions on the store's top-rated brow gels right now — and prepare to reach brow nirvana in no time.

The real MVP here is the unique wand shape. With one side covered in small, rubber bristles, you're guaranteed a natural, feathered look that won't disrupt your natural shape. Bonus: It's nearly impossible to leave globs of product on hairs no matter how many times you swipe this through.

Lancôme Sourcils Styler Brow Styler, $26.50, available at Sephora.
If you have naturally bold brows, you likely won't enjoy this formula. It's thick, dries to a powder-like texture, and uses long bristles that can clump brow hairs if you go too quickly. But thin, barely-there arches? Meet your match. You won't even need to use a pencil beforehand, the results leave your brows that full.

Givenchy Mister Brow Filler Tinted Waterproof Brow Filler, $27, available at Sephora.
Don't be put off by the excess formula on the wand when you pull it off; just dab a bit off and the rounded spoolie grips every inch of your brow for a precise finish. We like using an angled brush to swipe some extra product on for an improv pomade.

Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper & Hair Touch Up, $26, available at Sephora.
This holy grail product hits the top of review lists every time. Here's why: The wand is shorter than most, so you're able to mimic real hairs and comb through every single strand without disrupting your fine pencil or powder work. And if you usually opt for a more natural look, this teeny-tiny spoolie is key.

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel, $24, available at Sephora.
Highlighting gels are relatively new in the tinted formula market, but surprisingly, they're not a gimmick. This one is very similar to the Benefit option, but more affordable. It takes the ultimate brow commandment — use one shade lighter than your natural brow color — seriously, brightening your arches for a more natural, feathered look (as opposed to the heavy Instagram brow). Just don't count on it to fill in sparse areas.

Sephora Collection Brow Highlighting Gel, $12, available at Sephora.
If filling in isn't your issue and you just want to tame unruly hairs, this clear brow gel is a winner and leaves no tackiness behind.

NARS Brow Gel, $24, available at Sephora.
The bristles are pretty thick here, but somehow a goopy mess never happens — no matter how many times you pump the wand in and out of the tube. In fact, the formula is smooth enough to work on thin and thick brows.

Urban Decay Brow Tamer Flexible Hold Tinted Brow Gel, $20, available at Sephora.
The wand looks more like a mascara brush than an eyebrow spoolie, but thankfully, the formula is thin enough that it doesn't stain your entire orbital area. The best thing about it, however, is that it comes in the widest variety of shades we've seen with a brow product.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel, $22, available at Sephora.
This formula is ideal in almost every way, shape, and form. It's lightweight, leaves a natural finish that's neither chalky nor shiny, and it's waterproof. The only (and major) downside? It comes in just two brunette shades.

Too Faced Brow Quickie, $22, available at Sephora.
