Word On The Street: These Rock-Solid Public Art Works Are Moving Indoors!

Remember a few months ago when we showed you Paige Smith's rock-solid art installations? Well, we've been searching for the miniature sculptures ever since! Whether we're in Venice or downtown, we've constantly got our eyes peeled for glistening geodes peeking out from photo booths, bricks walls, and other public spaces.
Well, looks like we won't have to hunt for much longer! Starting this evening, Smith's work will be on display at one of our fave Sunset spots, The Standard Hotel. Located behind reception, The Box (which has featured everything from paintings to people sleeping) is the hotel's unconventional approach to viewing art. To celebrate the debut of her indoor version of the Urban Geode Project, Smith (a.k.a. A Common Name) is hosting a soirée along with DJ Jeffrey Paradise with tons of tasty cocktails on tap.

The tiny painted pieces of paper will be on display for a limited time, through July 5th. And, unlike her street art, it won't be subject to theft or erosion! Swing by The Standard for a peek at this breaktaking collection of crystals.
When: Thursday, June 14, 7 p.m.
Where: The Standard West Hollywood, 8300 Sunset Boulevard (near North Sweetzer Avenue); 323-650-9090.
