Two words: Party suit. Try a chic, blush set broken up by a little bit of pleated texture. Then finish it off with a golden bobble and some velvet platforms to really make it shine. This look shows you mean business when it comes to the holidays, but can totally break it down all night long on the dancefloor sans nip-slip, too.

You can't go wrong with a little red dress — no sequins required. Opt for a comfortable ribbed dress that you can wear from the office to your party, add in some bedazzled shoes (that are still totally walkable), a metallic pouch and a sophisticated coat and you're looking like a million bucks, all while skipping the whole "ugly sweater" thing.

Prada Studded Wool Coat, $2,630, available at Net-A-Porter; H&M Ribbed Dress, $34.99, available at H&M; Robert Clergerie Dylan Sandal, $437.50, available at Farfetch; Clare V. Henri Petite, $295, available at Clare V.; & Other Stories Star Stud Earrings, $12, available at & Other Stories.

If you're going to do sequins, go all the way with an unexpected element of your outfit, like your pants. Pair them with a more minimal blouse and top it off with an on-trend puffer jacket in a seasonal hue. A dangly earring keeps you looking dressy up top, while some velvet slippers are both laid-back cool and comfortable as can be.

Zara Quilted Anorak, $129, available at Zara; Chloe Sequined Trousers, $4,450, available at MyTheresa; Fifi Venezia Canal Grigio, $235, available at Fifi Venezia; Uniqlo Long Sleeved Tee, $14.90, available at Uniqlo; Weekday Tassel Earrings, $15.50, available at ASOS.

You can get away with wearing jeans to a holiday party. Just opt for an elevated wide-legged pair instead of your everyday skinnies, then keep the volume going with a statement sleeve up top. Finish this outfit with a polished slingback, artful earrings and a party bag that'll have you winning all the compliments at the open bar.

Front Row Shop Wide Leg Jeans, $41.40, available at Front Row Shop; COS Clip-On Earrings, $35, available at COS; Pixie Market Bustier Shirt, $112, available at Pixie Market; Finery Claybrook Sling Back, $161, available at Finery; Marc Jacobs Ballerina-Pattern Embellished Clutch, $2,900, available at Barneys New York.

"Holiday" doesn't have to mean dressy in the traditional sense of the word. Whip out a fashion hoodie and pair it with a patent leather skirt. Then, finish it off with some fun accessories, yet not your typical glitter clutch or chandelier earrings. Instead, try a bright-orange fur minibag, a single statement earring, and a literal cherry on top with some pointed-toe heels.

Fig Collective Hoodie, $105, available at Fig Collective; Mango Zipped Skirt, $45, available at Mango; W Concept Furby Bag, $208, available at W Concept; Gucci Leather Cherry Pump, $1,100, available at Gucci; Maria Black Hydra Medi Earring, $143, available at Maria Black.
