While today might mark the first day you're not thinking about what to buy someone for Christmas since... well, you can't even remember anymore, it's not time to stop the giving just yet. In fact, for the regions effected by hurricane Sandy, the long road to rebuilding is just beginning, and they still need your help. So, to inspire the holiday spirit, Boston-based ad agency Mullen and NYC-based production company Hungryman teamed up to create this touching rendition of a Christmas classic, aptly re-named "12 Days of Relief."
The main difference between this and all of the other parody songs you'll hear this season? This one is sung by actual Sandy victims, detailing what it is they need the most this year. This wrenching depiction of the holidays spent in the Rockaways, the Jersey Shore, and Seaside Heights reminds us all what the season is really about, and that, while we may have unwrapped our top must-have present from underneath the tree, for those still trying to piece their lives back together, it's the very basics that are the most needed right now. But, despite the devastating nature of the storm, there is still hope to be found. "12 Days of Relief" is already half way to its target goal of $20k, and you can still help donate right now.
