The Perfect Outfit To Copy For NYE

Groan alert. Every year we freak out about our New Year's Eve outfit. Do we drag our butt to Opening Ceremony to get a little quirky or jet to Intermix for an in-your-face-short cocktail dress? We never can decide, and end up with last year's trusty Jason Wu that's made our cocktail rounds a bajillion times. This year, why not ring in 2011 without the closet dilemma. Just for you, we're emulating a look that caught our eye at Lesley Blume's book party for Let's Bring Back . The '30s vibe is crazy-classic, but can still take you to the next decade with aplomb.
Essential # 1: Printed Sleeveless Shift: Lots of girls are gonna go the mini-to-the-max, with lots of sequins and sparkles, so why not stand out from the crowd? We love this beauty's printed shift, that's both subtly eye-catching and better the closer you get, so wethinks this Topshop stunner will give you an edge of class.
Topshop Cream Cobweb Pattern Tuck Shift Dress, $100, available at Topshop, 478 Broadway (at Broome Street); 212-966-9555.
Essential # 2: Black Beaded Choker: While blondie looked like she did a quick DIY from her local ribbon store, we're emulating the choker look with a little bit more heft. Beaded and beautiful.
Robert Rodriguez Fabric-Covered Necklace, $185, available atBergdorf Goodman, 754 5th Avenue (at 58th Street); 800-558-1855.
Essential # 3: Quilted Chain Handbag: This baby never goes out of style. Her gold chain is a little shorter, but we think longer is better in this instance. Channel Marc Jacobs, Chanel, and Lanvin, for oh so much less.
Tory Burch Alice Mini Bag, $295, available at Bergdorf Goodman, 754 5th Avenue (at 58th Street); 800-558-1855.
Essential # 4: Suede Ankle Bootie: Lovin' the way these vertiginous heels make your legs skinnier, and the suede is a great way to dress up the typical offerings. We went a bit higher than her booties, but, hey, it's NYE.
Acne Daring Suede Booties, $830, available at Acne, 10 Greene Street (between Canal and Grand streets); 212-625-2828.
Essential # 5: Opera Gloves: Well these are a throwback, aren't they? Add a totally unique component to an otherwise sexily understated outfit with above-the-elbows leather opera gloves. A bit dominatrix, a bit Golden Age. Who can resist a regulation Lolita?!
Kiki de Montparnasse Opera Gloves, $460, available at Kiki de Montparnasse, 79 Greene Street (at Spring Street);212-965-8150.
