Target’s New East Harlem Store Will Have Limited-Edition Pieces From Local Designers

In honor of Target's new East Harlem location opening July 25 (and believe us when we say we've been fervently counting down the days), the fash-forward chain is partnering with some Harlem designers to create limited-edition collections that capture the essence of the neighborhood, while also giving back to the community—5 percent of each product's revenue will go to local charities like Museo del Barrio and The Young Women's Leadership School. Included in the line-up are Isabel and Ruben Toledo, who created graphic bikinis, t-shirts, and sarongs, Stephen Burrows, who worked some colorblock magic on knit dresses and tops, and Marc Samuelsson, whose placemats, napkins, and potholders are sure to spice up any summer soirée. With prices ranging from $3.99 to $34.99, the collection will be on tap in the new store on July 25, followed by a wider national release and on Target.com starting August 1. If you've yet to explore Harlem, now you simply have no excuse.
