We know you always try to keep up with the city's hottest new restaurants, but if you do happen to nab a reservation, we feel that sometimes your most pressing concern is not what to order, but what to wear. Enter our brand new column, Style Bites, which not only gives you a sneak-peek at some of the chicest Big Apple eateries, but also serves up the perfect outfit to get all the diners' heads-a-turning.

Our inaugural visit was to Hudson Hall, a "modern, collegiate mess hall" of an eating establishment in the Hudson Hotel. The vibe is Hogwarts meets Gossip Girl, with dark wood paneling and oversized throne-like chairs, giant wooden refectory tables, a sleek, stainless steel open kitchen, and wrap-around video-screens. The farm-to-table, organic menu is not too shabby either—patrons get a tray and load dishes like a ridic good beef sliders or confit casseroles as they make the loop around the kitchen. Our superb waiter, Casey (dressed in the restaurant's super preppy striped blazer with crest), started us out with a very potent kamikaze shot, but there's also a good list of wines, and pitchers of everything from woo-woos to lemon drops. For fashion, we suggest you get in on the university vibe—nothing too dressy, but no midterm sweats—think funky oxfords, worn jeans, fitted, a patterned blazer, and a soft button-up, topped off with the raddest rucksack out there.
