Breaking: Olivier Theyskens Named Artistic Director At Theory

Back in May, we told you our favorite Salma Hayek lookalike, Olivier Theyskens, was designing a capsule collection for Theory. The spring '11 collab was such a hit, it seems that the Belgian is back for more—he has been appointed the Artistic Director of the entire company. "It's about extending our relationship," said Andrew Rosen, Theory's CEO, and Theyskens, the former AD at Nina Ricci, seems game, saying, "It's much bigger and slightly different, more an expression of a designer line, while the Theyskens Theory was quite personal." His promotion means he will head up a team of 25 employees with complete "creative freedom." What this entails for the fall '11 racks is anyone's guess, but we're expecting that the go-to office ready suits are going to make boardrooms everywhere a little less Up In The Air and a little more Fatal Attraction.
