Inside NYC’s Hottest New Hotel

Staycation time! Morgans Hotel Group just opened the doors of their third Mondrian, The Mondrian Soho, which managed the rare feat of being smoking hot weeks before the property could actually accommodate guests. Fashion Week parties for Prabal Gurung and V Magazine (hello money drop!) helped amp up the buzz, while an already-impossible-to-get-into restaurant, Sam Talbot's sustainable seafood eatery, Imperial No. 9, has ensured the reservation line is ringing off the hook. Did we mention Mister H, the boîte run by former Bungalow 8-er and Socialista founder Armin Armin Amiri? Yup, that's there too.
We've put together a slideshow of the newest addition to NYC's hostelry scene, chock-full of rad design elements from Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz, the dude behind their L.A. location and the pads of rock-stars like Lenny Kravitz and Diddy. The trippy interiors come courtesy of Jean Coucteau’s 1946 romantic French fantasy film La Belle et la Bête, the primary inspiration for Noriega-Ortiz's vision. The views are as epic as the powder-blue lobby—we're especially into showering with a picture window overlooking the skyline. Oh yeah, all rooms come with an iPad with a virtual concierge program, Malin +Goetz amenities, and minibar stocked with retro candy, Pabst Blue Ribbon beer, and, but of course, an intimacy kit. So skip kayak.com—a mini-break's a subway ride away.
