Hot Picks From L.A’s Coolest Shopgirls!

If you're always sleuthing around for an insider's take on the best shopping in L.A., look no further. We've gone right to the source and asked two of our fair city's best dressed retailers to help us sort through the goods in their super-well stocked boutiques. Today, we're hitting up two WeHo must-stops: Opening Ceremony and Creatures of Comfort to get you all the dish on what should be on your summer wish list.

First up, we asked Jenny Le, manager of Opening Ceremony L.A., to dish on the things she wants most in store. Jenny, who is never without her signature beautiful bronze eye makeup and accessorized with heavy silver necklaces, is undoubtedly one of L.A.'s most stylish, so we knew we had to pick her mind (and inventory) for today's story. If she had to choose three pieces, it would be a straw hat from Victor Osborne's OC collaboration, a cute cardi from Markus Lupfer, and some for-the-boy patterned desert boots. The sweater is a must because she loves the polka dot touches, and we think it's key to have a light cover-up for a breezy, So-Cal evening. If you're looking for something for the fashionable fellow who loves Opening Ceremony, try these Acne Animal print desert boots. As for her most-wanted accessory, she loves this Victor Oscourne for OC topper. "It reminds me of George Orwell's 1984," she says, and we couldn't agree more with her perfect summer picks.

Just around the corner is Creatures of Comfort, another rad resource for anyone who wants the best of what L.A. has to offer. This small shop is packed with indie designers like Alexandra Cassaniti and LD Tuttle, and more established fare, like A.P.C. and Alexander Wang. Tara Fox, who mans the registers, raided her racks to find two standout selections. "I love pieces that are fun to look at but are still comfortable to wear," Tara says, and her two summer styles totally epitomize her credo. The Breeze Dress from Stine Goya has a graduated orange pattern that is as easy on the eyes as it is to wear (we love the relaxed shape for a casual evening out) and the simple Drop-Back Striped Cami is ideal to throw over a bikini and would look great with a pair of slouchy chinos for a weekend BBQ. Done and done!
Stine Goya Breeze Dress, $470, and Creatures of Comfort Striped Back Drop Cami, $85, both available at Creatures of Comfort, available at Creatures of Comfort, 7971 Melrose Avenue (at Edinburgh Street); 323-655-7855.
