From the start, New York-based jewelry designers Jill Martinelli and Sabine Le Guyader have always been obsessed with the grim story of Lady Jane Grey, the "Nine Days' Queen" who was beheaded for adultery. While we can't quite relate to that (thankfully), the ladies behind Lady Grey Jewelry attribute their tough, almost sinister aesthetic to the former wife of King Henry VIII. Sound a little haunting? We're allured! Inspired by "objects of decay," the gals spring '12 collection is the perfect balance of gold-plated studs and crushed bismuth stones fit for a really cool evil queen. (Perhaps this one?) The severe but beautiful collection is aggressive without being too girly, dangerous without being off-putting. Pair the pieces with almost anything — printed collared shirts or white, billowy dresses for an extra bone-chilling effect — and you'll get a perfectly ethereal ensemble. Totally to-die-for, but, pinkie-swear, we promise we won't get all Maleficent on anyone.
