International Playground Opens On The LES

Who didn't love recess? We still have fond memories of heading to the playground sand-box or treating our 2nd-grade arch-nemesis to a cannonball on the see-saw. Though we're a little too grown-up for the swing-set, co-owners Johnny Pizzolato and Virginia Craddock are bringing us an adult version of our mid-day treat with International Playground, a permanent L.E.S. stop for their global brand collective. Known for opening up edgy temporary spaces and pop-up stores all over the world, the duo's boutique is both an incubator for emerging designers and established brands. We're feeling the super high-waisted denim from Ravishing Mad, outrageous leggings from Cut-it-Out, and cropped moto jackets from Vibe Johansson, and of course, we still love the draped dresses from H. Fredriksson and Mary Meyer's graphic, oversized tanks. Our favorite part: The "living" wall, a giant room installation made entirely of live plants. We urge you to go nuts in this space made just for you—but remember, playground rules still apply! Play nice!
