While some celebrity peers saluted Taylor Lautner for his bravery (and a few teenage girls cried over crushed dreams of a werewolf wedding), the rumors that Twilight star Taylor Lautner is gay still remain nothing more than rumors. It didn't take too long for the People magazine cover featuring the brooding Lautner and headline "Out & Proud" to spread like wildfire.
Not that there hadn't already been speculation that the actor and former Taylor Swift beau (one of the few who got away unscathed, in song) played for the other team — no, we aren't talking about Team Edward. But the January 7 "issue" blatantly claimed Lautner had officially come out. The quotes read, "I'm more liberated, and happier than I've ever been." Thanks to a sidebar teaser which was ripped off from a 2006 issue, eagle-eyed readers realized the whole thing was a hoax. Feels a little cruel, and unkind, no? (Huffington Post)
