This weekend, prepare for a editor verse editor showdown of Tina Brown and Graydon Carter magnitude. OK, maybe it won't be quite that acrimonious, but come Saturday the fashion flock will be tallying points for the war between
WSJ Magazine
, now helmed by Deborah Needleman, and
T: The New York Times Style Magazine
, with new EIC Sally Singer. The editors (both Condé Nast alums) have sizable statures in the fashion biz—Needleman headed up Domino while Singer occupied the Fashion News and Features Director title at Vogue—so their debut issues will be scrutinized more than the second semester newbie in high school. Needleman is featuring Black Swan actor Vincent Cassel on her premiere cover, while it's predicted that Singer is sticking Mick Jagger on the front. Of course, the battle won't just be about content—the papers will be counting on their luxury inserts to bring major ad revenues. While we think it's too close to call, who do you predict to be the Saturday showdown champion? (WWD)
