Summer is finally upon us, which means it’s time to pack your bags and start preparing your hit-list of weekend getaways. Ahead, four spots within a two-hour drive of NYC to hit up now!

Westport Playhouse: Theater lovers should definitely visit the nonprofit Westport Country Playhouse for its powerful and engaging performances. But don't just take our word for it — more than 30 of its productions have made the big jump to Broadway. Impressive, no? Bonus: When you’re done catching a play, hop around the building and grab a meal at the renowned, on-site restaurant, The Dressing Room.
The Connecticut Antiques Trail: If you're looking for a real mahogany chair from the 1800s, get out of the department stores hawking faux-vintage wares, and head for the authentic shops at the Connecticut Antiques Trail. Every Wednesday through Sunday, 35 antique shops housed inside historic homes along a mile-long road in Woodbury, Connecticut open their doors to those looking for a piece of history.
Mayflower Inn & Spa: The only thing that could ruin a great spa day is stepping out into crowded and gritty city streets. That's not the case with the Mayflower Inn & Spa, where the only thing more relaxing than the Herbal Detox Wrap is the surrounding Steep Rock Nature Preserve and Shepaug River.
Pick Your Own: Fruits and vegetables can't get fresher than when they're picked at the peak of ripeness, straight off their vines or branches. Head over to the various pick-your-own farms around the country for the best of the seasonal offerings.
