“How Do I Keep My Arms Covered When It’s Super Hot Outside?”

Alyssa writes: "I don't like showing off my arms. It's easy to cover them up with long-sleeves in the winter, but it's summer now and I don't want to sweat. How do I expose what I want to and camouflage what I don't, without becoming one with the fabric?" Many people believe that there are two types of clothing out there: clothes that were made to be pretty, and clothes that were made to be comfortable. But practical doesn't have to mean unflattering or — wait for it — basic. Gasp! Tops that not only serve your needs while giving you life aren't impossible to find, but they sometimes require a little bit of bravery. If you don't want to show off your arms, are you comfortable with giving another body part some exposure? You can with the black sheep silhouette of the season: the cold shoulder. Or more commonly known as the "Bardot cut-out," or the "off-the-shoulder." This kind of shape has sleeves (otherwise, it'd just be a tank top), but shows off your décolletage. While this River Island one has skinny straps, you can find plenty with larger straps so you don't have to wear a strapless bra if you don't want to. With a top as cool as this, you're going to be answering questions left and right about where you got it. Pair this with a sleek pair of flatforms and you're out the door, ready for summer and carefree. I hope this helps. See you next Saturday.
