Lipstick Art Will Blow Your Mind

We obviously love makeup, but we know that it's not all created equal. Although we’ve got foundation down pat, some of us (ahem) still get the jitters every time we attempt to draw on the perfect winged liner. So, the prospect of painting elaborate pieces of art on our faces is harrowing, to say the least.
This is definitely not the case for makeup artist Laura Jenkinson, who has taken face-painting to a whole new level by creating crazy-accurate depictions of our cartoon characters on her lips. Jenkinson began posting photos of her work to Instagram about a year ago. Now, 125 posts later, she has garnered a following of over 62,000 people.
A quick scroll through her Insta is a welcome reminder of our favorite animated friends. Stewie from Family Guy; Shrek; Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc.; and even Bubbles, Blossom, and Buttercup from The Powerpuff Girls all make an appearance on the artist's pout — with some hilariously true-to-life facial expressions.
With Halloween just around the corner, it's perfect timing for us to marvel at these: Let Jenkinson’s talent inspire you to go the extra mile. She even has a step-by-step tutorial on her blog. Perhaps, our beauty team could paint the cast of Super Mario Bros. on our lips this year (I got dibs on Toad!). If the #MakeupTransformation trend has taught us anything, Jenkinson’s genius reminds us that one of the most important reasons we wear makeup is to be creative and just have fun with it.
