The planets are fickle creatures. Jupiter is one big Hurricane Sandy. Pluto is constantly coming and going on astronomers' "Hot or Not" list. And, a few times a year, Mercury gets all passive-aggressive on us and does a neat little trick called Retrograde.
According to a Google search I just did, Mercury Retrograde is a period, occurring a few times a year, when the planet appears to be moving backward in the sky. Don't freak out, it's just an illusion. But, many believe Mercury rules several things in our lives — particularly communication and clear thought — and we should totally freak out because things on Earth are about to go haywire.
In times like these, it's important to turn to the one thing that rules humanity's collective sanity. No, not logic and reason, dummy. We're talking about pop culture — the warming glow of screens, playlists and feeds that turn us into swaddled babies in this Hannigan's orphanage we call life.
Keep these 15 things in your personal universe over the next three weeks, and you'll keep the universe's "can't even" period at bay.
