Chris Benz Celebrates His Avenue Magazine Cover With Crazy Colored Hair At The James Hotel

First off, how much do we love JIMMY, the hot nightspot at The James Hotel? Answer: a lot. Secondly, we have a similar heart-on for Chris Benz, the It-designer who, along with singer Mickey Sumner (daughter of Sting and Trudie Styler), is featured on
Avenue
magazine's spring cover. Luckily our two crushes aligned last week at an intimate celebration for the glossy's release, hosted by the cover stars and the newly minted Editor-In-Chief, Peter Davis, at the skyline situated boite. "I am obsessed with Chris' rainbow, Manic Panic locks," says Davis. "His hair is like his clothes: punk meet prep and pop art with loads of bright colors and fun." Indeed, the self-dubbed 'Prince of Color' might as well have put forth a royal decree—the room was as bright at Willy Wonka's factory with everyone from Julia Macklowe to Mary Alice Stephenson bedecked in Skittle-worthy hues. Plus, with guests like Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant, Becka Diamond, and Eugenia Gonzalez Ruiz-Olloqui, it made sense that the issue was all about "New York’s 39 most stylish women." Though no one jumped in that gorgeous pool, we're still holding out for summer.
