Jenny Salomon’s Wild Art-Chic Tees Will Totally Draw You In

Jaded as we are, it's not always easy to impress us with a new T-shirt line. But impressed we were by Louc, a new line of tees illustrated by New York artist Jenny Salomon (her partner May Simoneau designs the tees). Grainy and graphic, the intricate hand-drawn shirts are Jenny's first foray into art of the wearable variety-she usually prefers canvas to cotton. But they remain completely true to her goal of picturing the emotions we commonly keep hidden, like vulnerability, doubt, and hope. The original drawings&mdashwhich are then screened onto soft, draped tees&mdashshow doe-eyed girls layered with images of animals&mdash each new layer working off the marks from the one underneath. The effect is complex and dreamy. Like a trip-tastic look at what lies beneath (because we've all got a little lioness buried in us somewhere). Best part is, they're totally under-the-radar (do we smell indie cred?) Right now Jenny's selling her wild wares ($98) around town at shops like TG-170 and Poppy, but be on the look out because we think these illustrated beau-tees are a total draw.
