American Apparel Proud To Feature Transgendered Model In New Ads

We tend to hold our breath every time American Apparel launches a new ad campaign. From exposed lady bits to suggestive (and sometimes uncomfortable-looking) poses, the L.A.-based company is infamous for its provocative photos. So, imagine our shock when Dov Charney and crew released this shot of a completely clothed model (gasp!).
And if you're feeling a bit of déjà vu, you're not the only one. That gorgeous gal with gams for days is none other than Isis King from Cycle 11 of America's Next Top Model — the show's first-ever openly transgendered contestant.

Just in time for LGBT Pride Month, the brand is promoting its very popular "Legalize Gay" line of shirts. In an effort to raise funds for GLAAD, American Apparel donates 15% of the proceeds to the cause.
From Andrej Pejic to Lea T, these transgendered models prove that beauty comes in many forms. We say: Hat's off to those who suport them.
