Zara’s Casual May 2010 Lookbook Recommends You Wear Pants Under Dresses

We might not have worn pants under dresses since an unfortunate rendezvous with the pairing in high school, but according to the Zara's Casuals lookbook, the trend is back with a vengeance in the form of cropped sweats under skirts and jeans under dresses. The menu for the rest of May also sometimes seems a little try-too-hard: Fringed shorts, waist-belts worn with shirts and low-rise shorts, as well as what looks like a chambray overall/track shorts combo that's trimmed with lace and comes with an attached butterfly-sleeved undershirt. But on the better side of the spectrum, there's loose-fit trousers, great shoes, and soft-looking dresses that look as comfortable as a pair of pjs. Click through to see why we feel ambivalent.
