Meet Caitlyn Jenner, Vanity Fair‘s Cover Star

Introducing: Caitlyn Jenner.

Vanity Fair
announced that its July cover star would be the woman formerly known as Bruce Jenner. Legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz captured the images of Jenner at her home in Malibu — and they are stunning. Though Jenner shared her female identity in an April interview with Diane Sawyer, she was using male pronouns up until this moment. Ahead of the issue, Vanity Fair has released a behind-the-scenes clip of Jenner's photo shoot with Leibovitz. "It's about my life and who I am as a person," Jenner says in the video. That person was in some ways two people until now. Jenner spent her life navigating the split between Bruce and Caitlyn. "Bruce always had to tell a lie," she says. "Caitlyn doesn't have any secrets." Jenner could not suppress her true identity any longer. "If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, 'You just blew your entire life.'" Jenner acknowledges this is her moment of liberation. "As soon as the Vanity Fair cover comes out, I'm free." Watch the full clip below.
