Miley Cyrus Throws Us Quite A Lovely Curveball

Sure, there's a time and place for high-cut leotards and contrast-color pasties. For Miley Cyrus that just happens to be anytime, anywhere. Instead, it's when she opts for non-midriff-baring, butt-cheek-covering, your-grandma-will-approve style curveballs that makes our jaws drop in shock.
Take, for instance, the Giambattista Valli gown she wore to yesterday's World Music Awards. With the event itself being a bit unexpected (Pamela Anderson, Flo Rida, Mariah Carey, and Ricky Martin were among the notable guests), so was Cyrus' demure choice of attire.
With a perfectly neat, side-parted pixie, Cyrus wore disco-ball sequins to accept her awards later on, but it was a the full, floral, couture creation that she chose for her performance that was so statement-making. It's just the kind of romantic, billowy gown that might have felt expected — obvious, even — for any other young songstress on the red carpet. But, as someone who never really subscribed to traditional ideas of formal attire, Miley just looked boss when she came swinging in with a ball gown — rather than, say, a wrecking ball.
