We chuckled at poor Scott Rogowsky's attempts at local dating in Park Slope, but we had no idea what he was up against. According to data from Are You Interested?, a Facebook-integrated dating app with over 70 million installs, Brooklyn women aren't just the pickiest breed on the East Coast, but in the entire country.
To come to this conclusion, AYI used its pool of singles to determine the top five cities where women are least likely to respond to a man's message. Though Brooklyn took the cake on this one, Detroit took second place, followed by Minneapolis, Cincinnati, and Los Angeles.
Women of Brooklyn, we don't want you to feel embarrassed about this. In fact, we think you should be proud. It's not your fault if the online community of lackluster men can't think of a creative way to start a conversation. (Seriously, sometimes we think these guys have unionized in a campaign of mediocrity.) Your standards are high, and that's where they ought to remain. And dudes — get it together already.
