Is The World Ready For A Self-Tanning Body Wash? Josie Maran Thinks So

josie-maran-self-tanner
We want so desperately to be on board with self-tanners, but we hate the whole rigmarole that comes with them. When we actually attempt to put one on, we're scared of missing a spot or looking like we got into a bar brawl with a Mystic Tan booth. Don't even get us started on the awkward drying process, where you stand around in the nude, trying desperately not to brush up against something lest you stain it burnt-Cheetoh orange. Between all the mishaps that can occur with self-tanning creams, sprays, pads, wipes, wands, brushes, and lotions, achieving a perfectly flawless faux tan feels harder to attain than tickets to Bey's Mrs. Carter World Tour.

But, what if applying self-tanner was as simple as taking a shower? Josie Maran wants to make that dream a reality: Today she introduces her new Argan Self-Tanning Body Wash on QVC. As you can probably tell by the name, this is not your average soap — it's a two-in-one body wash that hydrates the skin while leaving behind a gorgeous, bronzed glow. The brand claims the wash is mess-proof, streak-free, and saves at-home bronze enthusiasts a lot of time and agony.
How so, you ask? The argan-oil body wash is spiked with natural DHA, the ingredient that "dyes" the skin in conventional self-tanners. After you wash your hair, step outside of the shower stream and apply the foaming wash to your body with the included applicator, using one pump for each part of your body. Apply in a circular motion, then wait 30 seconds and rinse thoroughly. The DHA will subtly tint the skin and then wash away, so you don't have to worry about the color drying or rubbing off on your clothing. Pat (don't rub!) your skin dry with a towel and then continue on your merry, bronzed way.
We haven't had a chance to test this product out for ourselves yet, so we can't tell you just how effective it actually is. However, it sounds very promising and we are definitely intrigued enough that we might just switch our TVs over to QVC today to try and catch it in action. If you snag one for yourself, tell us how you like it!

Josie Maran Argan Self-Tanning Body Wash, $35, available at QVC.
