The entire MTV Movie Awards was just a prelude to see the first 45 seconds of The Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire. And, that's just the truth. Another truth? The sequel looks awesome, with the same blue-tinted, Dust Bowl-era feel; the heavy eyeliner; the weird costumes of Effie Trinket; and the scary desperation of the repressed, frightened residents of Panem.
A couple of revelations: President Snow (Donald Sutherland) doesn't want to just end Katniss, he wants to squash all hope that her act of defiance had stirred. He also wants to dispatch the other victors (which means Haymitch, too), Peeta, and more. If only he could figure out a way to get all of them in some sort of arena and fight each other to the death...? If only.
