With an Academy Award nomination under her belt, it might not be a "Hard Knock Life" for 9-year-old acting phenom Quvenzhane Wallis, but she's definitely great at portraying to live in one. So, it comes as no surprise (though it is a cinematic thrill) that she'll be playing the title character in Jay-Z and Will Smith's forthcoming silver-screen rendition of Annie.
After proving her on-screen talent as Hushpuppy in Beasts Of The Southern Wild, Wallis caught the eye of critics and big-wig execs alike. As Sony Pictures’ president of production Hannah Minghella put it, "She is an extraordinary young talent with an amazing range, not only as an actress but as a singer and dancer, and we can’t wait for audiences to further discover her." We can't wait either, but in the mean time, we just can't get "We've Got Annie" out of our heads. (Just Jared)
