If her detractors thought Carine Roitfeld would go down easy, they thought wrong. After a controversial departure from Vogue Paris, where she was replaced by Emmanuelle Alt, Roitfeld created her own magazine.
CR Fashion Book
is a hit, as far as we're concerned, but apparently it's not enough for Carine: She was just named global fashion director for Harper's Bazaar.

But will she be quitting her day job? Doesn't look that way. If anyone can pull off a jet-setting, 25-hour-day lifestyle, it's definitely Carine. She'll be collaborating with creative director Stephen Gan on a handful of stories each year, beginning in March '13, in any and all of the magazine's international editions.
Hearst Magazines International (Bazaar's parent company) CEO Duncan Edwards said, “This collaboration marks the first time anything like this has been done, and we’re very excited about what Carine will bring to BAZAAR editions around the world. She is a visionary in the fashion world, and we are so happy to be working with her.”
