1. The Farmer's Daughter:
Nestled in West Hollywood proper, this urban paradise is the perfect place to get a little local respite. The in-house restaurant, Tarte, is one of the city's best eateries, but the hooked up rooms, awesome service, and calm atmosphere will keep you coming back for more.

115 S. Fairfax Avenue (at Beverly Boulevard); 323-937-3930.

2. Avalon Hotel:
We've raved about Oliverio, the restaurant tucked inside this Beverly Hills boutique hotel, but the gorgeous pool and mod rooms are just as delish as the Mediterranean menu. This is the perfect destination if you want to have a romantic weekend away and soak up the sun in the lap of well-priced luxury.

9400 West Olympic Boulevard (at North Canon Drive); 310-277-5221.

3. 29 Palms Inn:
Just 140 miles north of L.A. is Joshua Tree's most notable inn, and 29 Palms totally deserves its reputation. The accommodations are adorable, the prices are reasonable, and the location—right outside of the most gorgeous state park featuring dessert flowers and insanely beautiful vistas—makes you feel like you're roughing it without sacrificing any top-tier amenities.

73950 Inn Avenue (at Adobe Road); 760-367-3505.
