Timothée Chalamet Wore Womenswear On The Little Women Press Tour & No One Noticed

Timothée Chalamet wasn't always the dapper fashion boy he is today. We all saw the math rap video from his days at LaGuardia High — and it wasn't his finest sartorial moment. Then there was the time that he wore constellation pants (paired with a very sad gray t-shirt) to the "Nymphomaniac: Volume I" screening at the MoMA. But somewhere between his introduction to Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino in 2013 and the film's release in 2017, Chalamet's sense of style developed in a major way.

After the film went from independent flick to international success (thanks to that one scene with a peach), the 24- year-old actor followed suit (literally). He started wearing custom Gucci knitwear to screenings, showing up on the cover of GQ in a $3,000 Saint Laurent bomber jacket, and can we take a moment to appreciate the Louis Vuitton sequined harness he wore to the 2019 Golden Globes? Now, that's how an Oscar-nominated actor dresses. Men, take note.

It wasn't until this month's press tour for Greta Gerwig's remake of Little Women that his style hit its peak. There was a pinstripe tailored suit à la Alexander McQueen, a very nonchalant Gorillaz callout, and a pink corduroy suit that deserved more attention. But it was the magenta Stella McCartney suit — taken from the designer's pre-fall 2019 womenswear collection — that he wore to the Paris premiere that proved our suspicion that Timothée Chalamet really can pull anything off.

Stella McCartney

As if toting around an itty bitty Eiffel Tower keychain all night wasn't enough to make this outfit go viral, he had to use Little Women's Paris premiere to showcase his ability to wear womenswear like it is no big deal. His suit, a magenta trio courtesy of Stella McCartney, was part of the British designer's pre-fall 2019 collection. But it's not the first time that Timothée Chalamet has played with gender norms in fashion.

For his recent Entertainment Weekly shoot with co-star Saoirse Ronan, Chalamet donned another womenswear piece: a Marc Jacobs blouse and necktie from the spring 2019 collection.
