The Orange Manicure Makes For A Chic Entry Into Fall

Believe it or not, we're very into bright orange for fall. The color is pretty divisive, but even if you've declared everything with a detectable apricot undertone as out-of-bounds for autumn, one look at fall's freshest manis, straight off the streets of New York Fashion Week, might change your mind.

And when it does, we've rounded up our current favorite bottled-up oranges, all of which will deliver the most flattering burnished glow to your fingers and toes. From terracotta to pumpkin, find your foolproof guide to the best orange nail polish, ahead.

While out promoting her new film, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, Margot Robbie looked every bit a creamsicle dream, with light orange smudged across her eyelids, lips, and yes, her nails.
Celebrity manicurist Tom Bachik used Chanel Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in the shade Coquillage to create Robbie's trending look.
Bachik was also the artist behind Selena Gomez's vibrant orange manicure. Just a few weeks ago, she posted this shot of her almond fingertips to Instagram.
Not ready to go all in? Some celebrities, like Kerry Washington, are accenting their nails with subtle shades of orange, as you can see here. To add a little oomph to Washington's basic cobalt mani, manicurist Kim Truong used a tangerine polish to paint a geometric pattern onto only her ring fingernails.
Fashion designer Ulla Johnson tapped Paintbox creative director Mabelyn Martin to create a minimalist design implementing the brand's fall-perfect orange shade, Like Spice.

“We were inspired by Ulla’s stunning color palette of mossy greens and terracottas, as well as her creative use of gradual flows of colors," Martin explains of the inspiration for the look. "Creating a partial outline of the nail with this curvy design gives the nails a sexy edge by exposing the natural nail while slightly framing it with a rich pop of color."
