These Celebrities Went All Out With Their Holiday Decorations

Most of our staff lives in New York City, so our idea of decorating for the holidays is, at most, throwing one of those red, velvet bows on our apartment door and calling it a day. Inside, we might put up a faux tree, light some gingerbread-scented candles, and maybe add some twinkly lights to the whole shebang. It's nothing like the elaborate light displays and blowup Santas of the suburbs.

So looking at how much effort some of our favorite celebrities put into their seasonal decor is an exercise in living vicariously. After all, most of us couldn't even fit a tree as big as Britney Spears' into our living room. Ahead, check out how Britney, Kylie Jenner, and others get their homes into the festive spirit. 'Tis the season for excessive tinsel.

P.S. Of course, Mariah Carey is in this slideshow. Do you even have to ask?

Kylie Jenner

Leave it to Kylie to choose larger-than-life ornaments in pink and rose gold. Could these be her next Lip Kit colors? Designer and florist Jeff Leatham helped her put together the display, and we have to say it gels with her Warhol prints.
Britney Spears

The internet couldn't get over the size of Britney's Christmas tree. Look how huge it is compared to her furniture! She even added a reindeer for decoration.
Mariah Carey

There's no one who's more excited about the holiday season than Mariah "All I Want for Christmas" Carey. No one. And it wouldn't be Mariah Carey's Christmas tree without butterfly ornaments.
Sophie Turner

Looks like winter really has come. Turner is celebrating with a "Sansa Clause" ornament that spoofs her Game of Thrones character.
Joanna Gaines

The Fixer Upper star admits that she always gets sad when the family puts up their tree, and explained to her daughter Emmie that "it's a good kinda sad. I explained these memories on this tree are so sweet and time just goes by so fast." What a relatable feeling this time of year.
Sarah Hyland

Hyland and boyfriend Wells Adams decorated their first tree together. Not only did they top it with a Stranger Things-themed star, but they picked food-themed ornaments, like waffles, chocolate-covered pancakes, and even a beer mug and wineglass. We're kind of in love.
Kristen Bell

Bell — who voiced Anna in Disney's Frozen — had a lesson in "letting it go" while decorating. One of her two daughters broke off the Anna ornament's head! "This will be the cover of my autobiography and it will be titled 'My children keep me grounded,''' Bell captioned the photo.
Reese Witherspoon

Witherspoon keeps it merry and bright while she strings up lights in her Draper James sweater, and her dogs Hank and Pepper keep her company.
Coco Austin

Austin is an early-bird tree decorator; this was taken on November 20, and some of us still can't get it together. Her 2-year-old daughter Chanel is adorably helping her, handing her garlands.
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi

Leave it to Snooki to be really extra with her decor — but it looks like her kids Giovanna and Lorenzo share their mom's taste, since they look super-happy.
Sarah Jessica Parker

This is the most epic collection of Christmas decorating finery we've ever seen displayed (pre-tree). Makes us so anxious to see her after Insta.
Colton Haynes & Jeff Leatham

Leatham decorated Kylie Jenner's house, so you know his own home decor will be on-point. Along with husband Colton Haynes, this duo are having a white Christmas with perfect sunset views.
Paris Hilton

Looks like Paris is dreaming of a white Christmas, with a tree and trimmings all done in white lights and ornaments.
Christian Siriano

While Siriano's tree might be traditional, decorated in white and red, the gifts beneath it are anything but — note the Tiffany blue and Hermés orange boxes.
Miranda Kerr

Kerr's Christmas tree is wrapped up in a gorgeous red velvet ribbon with the perfect star on top.
Jamie Foxx

The Foxx tree is full flocked and, at this angle, gigantic!
Lily Collins

Casa de Collins went all in on a bird theme for the holidays.
Shannon Doherty

Talk about a tree with a view!
Ashley Graham

The theme here is green — but not Grinch-y.
