18 Stars Who Can't Get Enough Of Bad TV

There's something delightfully surreal about the thought of celebrities watching reality TV. But why wouldn't stars enjoy The Bachelor and The Real Housewives as much as us? It's probably a much-needed escape from Hollywood — and the spotlight shining on their own personal lives.

Still, we bet you'll be surprised by just how, erm, impassioned some A-listers are about their favorite reality-TV shows. Guess which Oscar-winner was once a dedicated viewer of The Hills? Which actress fell head over heels for the Kardashians while on bed rest? And who's the pop star that fangirled all over one of the Shahs of Sunset at the gym?

From Chrissy Teigen's shameless Housewives obsession to Kaley Cuoco's love affair with Ben Higgins, it seems like every celeb is on the reality-TV train. So, here are 18 stars who might just be bigger reality TV fans than you are.

Lea Michele

The Glee star's passion for the Real Housewives is so fierce that she's made a habit of befriending the stars in real life, from NYC to Beverly Hills. "I just met [former RHOBH star] Camille Grammer in Hawaii,"
she gushed to OK!. "I met Carole [Radziwill from RHONY] and we have become good friends. We had NeNe Leakes on Glee. I just want to collect as many Housewife friends as possible." The actress added, "I really want to meet Brandi [Glanville of RHOBH]. She’s just winning for me."

Michele even has her own tagline figured out if she was ever on the show. "It would be like, 'I mean what I say and I say what I mean," she told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. Oh, and she's got the greatest viewing buddy, ever — "[I] come home every single night and watch reality TV with my cat," she told Prestige in 2012.

Jennifer Aniston

Aniston was a longtime Bachelor skeptic before her friends got her hooked. "Last year, [friends] were saying, ‘It’s The Bachelor, it’s premiering tonight! The Bachelor is premiering tonight!’" she told the Hollywood Reporter last year. "And I was like, ‘Oh, guys! Seriously? The Bachelor? That’s been on for 15 years or something.’" The actress continued, "And Justin and I, just for fun, watched — and two hours later, we were addicted. It was like junk food. We were sad when it ended."

Sean Combs

Diddy has a thing for housewives. "I'm a reality-show junkie," he told E! News. “My favorite housewife, hands down, is Nene [Leakes]. I’m an Atlanta housewives fanatic and I do love the New Jersey housewives, too. I like the family feud thing." But it's this next bit that impresses us: "I’m not even embarrassed to say it. You’ll even find me in chat rooms." See if you ever see a "PuffDaddy404" in a chat...

Taylor Swift

T.Swift is a big proponent of VH1 show Couples Therapy With Dr. Jenn. While accepting an award back in May, the pop star revealed she was excited to brush shoulders with the couples therapist, who was in attendance. "I watch [it] a lot so I was really really excited to meet her," she said. And the 1989 singer is allegedly a superfan of The Great British Bake Off, which might be the most-believable celebrity rumor we've ever heard in our lives.

Kaley Cuoco

Meet the biggest Bachelor fan of all time. The actress called in (unsucessfully) to The Bachelor Live earlier this year. "I called in to ask my questions that the fans supposedly get to call in and ask, and I was not allowed to!" she griped. "So, Ben Higgins, I have questions for you and I will save my questions until I get through and I will be on my phone when I get in my car to try and get through tonight."

The Higgins devotee also has leggings with his face on them. She's an equally enthusiastic fan of Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher. "You know I'll be watching," she said of the current season. "And I'll have leggings with her face on it at some point, like everyone else!" (No, honey, we think that's just you.) There were even rumors at one point that Cuoco could be the next Bachelorette herself — but the actress insisted she's too much of a fan to ever leave her couch.

The singer relies on reality TV to chill out when she's on the road. "I love reality TV. I'm so bad. I like Love & Hip Hop and Bad Girls Club. It's ridiculous," she told Grazia. "You forget about TV when you're working, but it has been saving my life any time I get back to my hotel room." But it's Shahs of Sunset that turns RiRi into a real fangirl. She ran into star Reza Farahan at the gym last year and reportedly told him, "'I don't want to be 'that' person at the gym, but you're crazy...love your show."

Andrew Garfield

The actor counts on reality TV to help him decompress during filming. "When I’m working on something very intense — like [Spider-Man] was very intense to work on, believe it or not, and I’m doing a play at the moment which is very, very intense — whenever I’m not on stage, I wanna watch reality television,” he revealed to Total Film in 2012. “I wanna watch, like, The Voice or The Bachelor. Don’t be surprised by that — it’s the greatest show on TV.” Okay, that might be going a tad far, Andrew.

Jennifer Lawrence

So, what does Hollywood's most-relatable star the actress look for in a boyfriend? "[S]omebody that has the same taste in reality TV," the actress told Vanity Fair. Her favorites? "Shark Tank. Wait, oh, Dance Moms — that is a good one!” she told the magazine. “Okay, maybe my favorite is Dance Moms, but I do love my Real Housewives. But there’s also — there’s Doomsday Preppers. Hoarders is okay. I find it gets a little boring after a while, but it’s great. Basically, what I’m saying is all I need in a relationship is somebody to watch TV with me.”

Bryce Dallas Howard

It took a long-overdue pregnancy to convert Howard to a Kardashians diehard. She told the Huffington Post that Keeping Up With the Kardashians became her guilty pleasure while she was on a doctor-ordered bed rest. "I had never watched it. Then, when I was super-pregnant, I was overdue and I actually had a pretty bad injury. I got put on bed rest and I couldn’t move," she explained. "And I was like, 'I just want to watch the Kardashians, I never watched it before! I just really want to see what this is all about.' And I have since watched every single episode. I love it...I love it."

Chrissy Teigen

The supermodel likes to share her hilariously intense love for Real Housewives on social media. "Follow chrissyteigen on Snapchat to watch me watch housewives 20 hours a day," she joked on Instagram while watching a Real Housewives of New York marathon before this year's premiere. She tweets about her aspirations to be like Yolanda Foster. She thanks God for the the gift that is Ramona Singer. She once took a fangirl pic with ex-RHONY star Aviva Drescher.

Oh, and last year, she told us her hypothetical tagline, should she ever be a Housewife. “Oh God, I’d be lying if I said I haven’t thought about this," she said. "I may be married to John, but I’m a Legend in my own right." Damn, that's good.

Robert Pattinson

You probably haven't heard of RPatz's favorite — but it sounds like our kind of show. “I love English reality TV. I like Geordie Shore. It's like the Jersey Shore of England," he told MTV U.K. "It's amazing, one of the greatest TV shows I have ever seen in my entire life...and it's not really laughing at people, because I don't really like that kind of reality TV, the people in it, you genuinely really like them, it's crazy.”

Megan Fox

The Real Housewives is a couples activity for the actress and hubby Brian Austin Green. “I watch all of the Housewives," the actress told E!, adding that Beverly Hills and New Jersey are her favorites. "Brian watches them, too. They’re addicting. And we talk about it. We’re like, ‘Could you believe Teresa did that?’ They’re like drugs, those shows. It’s my worst vice for sure." She continued, "We watch them together and we record them if we’re going to be out of town. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s just junk food for your brain."

Eddie Redmayne

Redmayne needed something silly to balance the serious while he was playing Stephen Hawking for 2015's The Theory of Everything.
“I come home from trying to pretend to know about astronomy and physics all day and turn on The Real Housewives," he told fellow fan Jennifer Lawrence in Interview. "I know. I’ve been a closet lover of faux-reality TV since The Hills. It’s bad." The actor explained he wonders how much of it is fake. "I can’t believe the intricacies of their lives. I want to know how much of it’s a sham, how much of it is directed."

Kristin Chenoweth

For the actress and singer, reality TV is a part of her wind-down routine. "Here’s what I do,” she told the New York Times. “I take a bath. I do my cool down for my neck; I have neck issues. And then, I get in bed and I watch bad television. I am obsessed with the following: Real Housewives of any county — it doesn’t matter. Vanderpump Rules. Dance Moms.” Chenoweth has even appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Orange County's Vicki Gunvalson.

January Jones

Mad Men's Betty Draper probably could've starred in her own Real Housewives series, but the actress who played her favors a different show: Keeping Up With The Kardashians. "I love that show," the actress confessed to SheKnows. (Her former co-star Jon Hamm, on the other hand, not so much.) "I watch a lot of reality TV," she added.

Jonah Hill

The actor has a soft spot for the ladies of Atlanta. "I pulled up next to NeNe Leakes in a car in Atlanta where I was shooting a movie and I freaked out," he told Wendy Williams. "I texted all my friends." Lucky Hill once got a set visit from the Real Housewives of Atlanta stars. Phaedra Parks told Us Weekly that they brought him a gift basket full of RHOA goodies, including a T-shirt that said "Everybody Knows Phaedra Loves Jonah."

Christina Ricci

Ricci is into everything, from the classics to the niche, when it comes to reality TV. “I personally really enjoy watching reality TV. I love how you can go there and it’ll be Big Brother time, and the entire country is talking about [the show]," she told Jimmy Kimmel. "It’s like headline news, what happened the night before."

But her favorite show is one you probably haven't heard of: The U.K.'s How Clean Is Your House? "These two British ladies go and surprise...people who are really messy," she said. "Here in the U.S. we call them ‘hoarders’...the best part is when they show you how dirty it is.”

Anthony Hopkins

Even Hannibal needs some escapism. The actor told The Guardian that his idea of a good night was "staying in and watching Mob Wives on TV." He's also a big fan of American Idol. "I think it's a great show because it's like the American dream, isn't it?" he told Jimmy Kimmel. "These kids can get up there and do what they want and I think it's fantastic."
