Eva Herzigova Talks Career Longevity, & Shunning Hollywood

This year Eva Herzigova celebrates her 24th year in the fashion industry. Not that the supermodel is shouting about it or taking to Twitter to let her “fans” know. Nope, the former face of Guess and this week’s cover star for Net-A-Porter’s The Edit likes to keep things private; “In this society, where people sell their souls on Facebook and Twitter, I don’t go out there selling myself – I am very private.”
Not that it means Herzigova isn’t capable of disclosing a juicy tidbit or two. She reveals that Marc Jacob’s last runway show for Louis Vuitton was just as magical to take part in, as it was to watch. She says, “I saw Katie [Grand, editor and Marc Jacobs’ stylist and friend] on the Eurostar recently, and I told her I was still dazed from the beauty of the show…She told me, 'Of course you had to be there – it was for the Louis Vuitton girls.' I have done four campaigns for them, so it was really touching.”
And, Hollywood? The supermodel gave up the pipe dream of acting success over 15 years ago as the people she met there were just too creepy, “After doing a few films, I went to L.A. looking for an agent – and it was just pathetic…I met people who said, 'Yes, we can talk about the movie over dinner.' I was like, 'What dinner? I can just read the script here.'” It seems that Hollywood’s loss is the fashion world’s gain, as Herzigova’s cover story with Net-A-Porter is a sizzling mix of Studio 54-style glamour with laid back tailoring. Think spike heels, slick tux jackets, and shimmering body suits. Yup, looks like Ms. Herzigova walks the line and leads the life that is best suited to her.
