Unpaid internships have been a subject of much contention, exploitation, and lawsuits — especially in the fashion industry. While we're not ones to stir the pot (or expect people to work for free!), when we saw this irresistible Craigslist job post, we did a mental 180.
Why wouldn't we want to be an unpaid "house intern" with responsibilities like watering four large plants of questionable ficus origin? What other reasons would we have to wake up at the crack of dawn then to get to "work" by 8:30 a.m., and make coffee, sweep, and do other "mild cleaning" — all for free? And, as for the beagles — working with animals is just an added bonus to this coveted job. So, we implore you: Think about it. Think about the freedom and valuable experience you will inherit.
