Kristen Stewart, normally more in favor of cutoffs than couture, has made some notable changes to her wardrobe since she signed on to be the face of Balenciaga's Florabotanica fragrance. The brand's good influence became clear when she wore this look — still in character but nonetheless edgier and more put-together than her normal fare. Then there was this Zuhair Murad stunner, a success to be sure. But while those outfits were great, the star turned our expectations of her wardrobe upside down this weekend at the premiere for
On The Road

In the world of Kristen Stewart, this is the equivalent of Diane Keaton's tuxedo — and don't think her stylists didn't intend that comparison when they chose this all-Balenciaga, straight-off-the-runway ensemble. We're not prepared to say it's as successful, considering pretty much nothing could beat Diane's watershed fashion moment. But she does look good! And her outfit (not to mention her face) is oozing personality, finally allowing her to truly stand out among her peers. A lot of outlets are complaining that her top looks like a bra, though from where we stand, there's no rule against that. Our one issue is that the pants could fit better, there's some less-than-ideal bunching going on up front. That said, the high cut, the pointed toes peeking out, the hint of skin, and the vampy lipstick make for one killer combo.
This outfit shows she's ready to embrace a new, more sophisticated career post-Twilight...at least until that premiere rolls along and she slips back into her usual tween-crowd-pleaser minidresses, at which point, we will dutifully let you know.
