Yves Saint Laurent Makes Chic Bags Out Of Recycled Goods

Yves Saint Laurent has teamed up with female artisans in Burkina Faso, West Africa to produce the Muse Two Artisanal—60 limited-edition, hand-crafted totes made out of recycled plastic bags and fair-trade cotton. Part of the brand's "New Vintage" collection, which takes old, unused YSL fabric from years past to create new products, this bag is so chic and sophisticated we can't believe that it's made of anything but the most high-end materials. Since so few of the bags were produced, they are only available online in the U.S. and U.K. and run for $1,720. If you're in the market for a new high-end bag, this one should definitely be a contender, not only for its timeless silhouette but also for its eco-friendly and humanitarian production. (Ecouterre)
